BENEDICTION/BENEFACTION
BACKGROUND-
Among the many stimuli that I have discovered which bring out the ecstatic experience is a focus on an individual person while reciting a prayer of blessing. I found this due to sage advice from Chris Mitchell, the first person to recognize my behavior, who said that what comes wants to move and wants to move to other people. After trying this out and finding a strong response I decided to deepen the exercise by adding a modified version of my personal prayer, which itself is very effecting.
However due to the oddness of the resulting behavior this was something I would only do on the sly or in disguise. And in the cases when someone would respond directly, though usually in a positive way, it would cause me great psychological distress. What I experience is so removed from my person that any acknowledgment of my person in the context of the experience is totally incongruous. Being disguised though I can represent with honesty what comes through me as an offering to others, letting it be seen as its own manifestation.
